Scaling & Root Planing

Scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning procedure performed by a dental professional to treat gum disease and prevent its progression. During this treatment, plaque and tartar buildup is removed from above and below the gumline. The roots of the teeth are also smoothed to promote healing and prevent bacteria from reattaching.

I disliked Dr. Pickus so much, I was ready to leave when he abruptly retired and Dr. A bought the practice. I decided to give Dr. A a chance and he's still my dentist 30+ years later. For past 22 years, I drive in from Annapolis where I have plenty of other dentists to choose from. As the practice has evolved, I will say I've been anxious about some of the changes, but Dr. O has been a great addition and I adore my long time go-to hygienist, Karine (Adeline is great too).

She took time to educate me on preventative measures moving forward to remedy the situation. I’m pretty tender with oral care, Dr. Adegabi made sure to make me as comfortable as possible, and made the procedures as painless as possible. I have found my new dental care provider.
